CHALET T’LAER, built over 3 levels, is a traditional large 1980’s ski chalet which is split into 2 self catering chalets and a large garage for the storage of skies or bicycles. The chalets have something which is very rarely found in French ski chalets - SPACE, and lots of it.
Its elevation gives it fantastic views across the south valley. The building is located beside the public road, which is accessible at all times. The chalet is located 800m from the centre of Chatel ensuring a good evening can be achieved without worrying about drinking, taxies or a long walk home along untreated private tracks.
The skiers can go skiing for the day while the grandparents can walk into town with the young children. For those who want to venture out of the town, they can use the free ski bus which stops at the bus stop outside the house and runs to all ski areas in Chatel. And on the day offs why not visit Monthey in Switzer land with its shopping centres.
The chalets can be rented individually or together to cater for large groups.

Lift
to Super-Chatel
Chatel
has two main ski areas – Super Chatel & Le Linga/Pre-La-Joux - which are
both part of the massive Portes du Soleil ski domain.
Super Chatel
is ideal for beginners and intermediates, with its sweeping tree-lined blue
runs. The Super-Chatel ski area links directly into
Switzerland and the resorts of Torgon and Morgins.
Five minutes drive/bus away
from Super Chatel is Le Linga/Pre-La-Joux ski area. This area includes more challenging runs and
links directly into the main Portes Du Soleil
circuit, dropping down first into the high altitude Avoriaz
ski domain.
The piste
at Linga is open once a week for night skiing
complete with floodlights and music. Night skiing is free to those holding a
valid lift pass.
The Portes
du Soleil is so large that it is one of the few ski areas that can say
truthfully "there is something for everyone". It is well known as
being an intermediates paradise - mile after mile of piste
allows you to cover a huge amount of ground. The terrain is so varied and there
is so much to discover that it keeps people coming back year after year.
Chatel
and the Portes Du Soleil both have an enviable snow
record. Their proximity to Mont Blanc and Lac Leman creates a micro-climate
which means that the area tends to get significant snowfall from the start of
December through to when the lifts close in late April.
Those in the know have long
since discovered that the Northern French Alps have some of the best and
consistent snow conditions to be found anywhere across Europe. Over the last
few seasons, the Portes du Soleil has had fantastic
conditions while at the same time the higher and so called "snow
sure" resorts in the south of France have been sorely lacking in snow.
The inclusive Portes Du Soleil Ski Pass covers the following 14 resorts,
all of which are linked by lift:
Avoriaz,
Abondance, Champery, Champoussin, La Chapelle d'Abondance, Châtel, Les Crosets, Les Gets, Montriond, Morgins, Morzine, St Jean d'Aulps, Torgon, Val D'Illiez
There is plenty to keep non-skiers
entertained as well - ice skating, ice diving, husky dog sled rides,
tobogganing, walking, relaxing in the nearby thermal springs or just simply
sampling the food, wine and lifestyle of this beautiful alpine village.
